The real cost of vaping

What is the real cost of vaping?

The real cost of vaping is a big question for people who are considering vaping as an alternative to smoking. Usually when you consider cost it is really hard to actually pin point because there are too many variables. I’m trying to price it with no taxes in mind, because some states already implemented some tax, and that’s unfortunately influences the price. But in this article we are going to try to unveil the average startup and weekly real cost of vaping.

Cost of a starter kit – pen vape

These systems are the old school vaping devices. The East coast still using them as the go-to device, while on the West coast people stepped away from the little pen tanks, and usually use a single battery mod with detachable tank on it. An average pen device could cost around $30-$60.

Cost of buying a whole kit with external batteries and a real atomizer:

The regular box mods or even the single battery mods are the full-blown version of vaping. The price of these devices are in the most extreme in the range of cost. The cheapest cloud go from $45 to $150. Plus one or two batteries: $15-$30. And an optional battery charger $15-$20. It makes the real cost of a vape kit around: $60-$250 – this is the biggest range, but realistically it’s around $80-$100.

Cost of buying a salt-nic or POD device:

Salt-nic or Salt nicotine systems are considered a more wallet-friendly solution of vaping. The most (in)famous device the JUUL is using the same system as any other pod device. The positive side of these systems that they use less Juice but on the other hand salt nic juice is usually more expensive to buy. The cost of a device can cost between $30-$90.

The real cost of daily vaping:

To vape you required E-Liquid or Juice a bottle of 60 ml regular or 30 ml of saltnic averages about $20. The e-liquid consumption depends on how much the user vapes and depends on the device too. Pod devices and regular (not mesh coils) use usually less juice, but on average a bottle should last around 4-7 days.

The device requires  to change the coils and pods about every other week. Depends on the atomizer: some coils can last up to a month. The coils and replacement pods usually cost around $5-$10. That would make the real daily cost of vaping around: $3-$6.

The real cost of vaping summarized:

As mentioned before the variables are very hard to pinpoint. The startup cost could be anything starting from $40 to the most extreme hand made Mods.
