Lost Vape Orion PLUS Review

What do we know about Lost Vape Orion PLUS?

The Lost Vape Orion Plus is the newest version of the well known Orion device. The Lost Vape Orion DNA Go was the first version and it took the vaping world like a storm. The build quality and the aesthetics were impressive and left a mark that might will last for years to come. Other manufacturers were inspired by the design (i.e. they stole the idea) and created new pod devices like Smok Trinity Alpha, SnowWolf Wocket and Geek Vape Frenzy. Even Lost Vape created their own cheap version and named it Lost Vape Orion Q. The new Orion PLUS pod will come with a replaceable coil with 0.23ohm mesh coil and a 0.5ohm regular coil. And it will e powered by the upgraded EvolV DNA chipset.

Will the new Lost Vape Orion PLUS pods be compatible with the old Pods?

Lost Vape Orion Pod

The Orion PLUS device can be compatible with the original DNA pods. For these pods the recommended power level is 1 and 2. This means that the new and very popular aftermarket The Pod IQS Mesh Coil Orion Pods will work with too. The original pods were on the shorter lifespan side, so the aftermarket pods were welcomed by the community. And don’t forget about the promised in-the-works aftermarket RTA pods either! These options will create a bigger market, than a brand new device could achieve. Although the original DNA pods still can be a bit hard to get. Shortages still happen but fortunately not that often as it was in the past.

Which is better 0.23ohm mesh coil or the 0.5ohm regular coil?

According to Lost Vape, both coils are compatible with both freebase nicotine liquid or nicotine salt. Seemingly the 0.5 coils are a lot better than the 0.25 coils. On the longevity of the pod / coil life we don’t have enough data yet. But we only can hope that after using it longer it will show its true colors.

What’s the verdict on the Lost Vape Orion PLUS?

It’s a beautiful device rightly part of the Orion family. It lives up to its proud roots and it fills a hole that didn’t need to be filled. It’s feels like the new device doesn’t really give more to the user than the looks. The replaceable coils might make it cheaper on the longer run, but the market didn’t need just an other new pod device. The updated chip-set just makes me think MEH. If you own a Lost Vape Orion DNA Go I personally don’t see the point of upgrading to this version aside of the looks or for the bragging rights of owning the newest model possible.
